A comforting cuppa for families at the Rainbow Hub
Lancashire Tea supports Mawdesley's Rainbow Hub
Families visiting Rainbow Hub in Mawdesley will now enjoy a warm cup of Lancashire spirit courtesy of Lancashire Tea.
The Rainbow Hub team were delighted to receive hundreds of Lancashire Tea bags along with a £300 donation, which will help keep their visitors well looked after.
Rainbow Hub supports over 100 families rising to the challenges of having children living with neurological and physical conditions. Now in its 25th year, the charity costs over £600,000 annually to keep its doors open and relies on a dedicated team of 30 staff and 20 regular volunteers.
Rainbow Hub promotes independence and achievement for children and young people through the philosophy and practice of Conductive Education Therapy — a holistic educational system using repetitive physical activities incorporating rhythm, song and phrases to help young people with neurological conditions and brain injuries carry out simple movements.
The charity supports families dealing with conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), Williams Syndrome, Moebius Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, acquired brain injury, global developmental delay, genetic conditions and other physical disabilities. As well as providing therapy, Rainbow Hub runs both a nursery and a school.
Lyndsay Fahey, Chief Executive from Rainbow Hub said: "A warm cup of tea might seem like a small thing, but it makes such a difference to our families. Whether they're waiting for an appointment, taking part in a therapy session, catching up with other parents, or just taking a moment to breathe, that cuppa is often exactly what's needed."
Lauren Forecast, Marketing Manager of Lancashire Tea said: "Our Communi-tea grants are about supporting the small things that often make the biggest difference. The work Rainbow Hub does for local families is truly inspirational, and we're proud to play a small part in keeping the kettle on."
Rainbow Hub celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, marking a quarter of a century of supporting families across Lancashire. For further information on its work, including how to donate or get involved, visit www.rainbowhub.org.
